Where our data comes from

The province publishes a list of community-based restorative justice programs that receive Community Accountability Programs (CAP) funding, including contact details for each community served.

What we checked Contact details are transcribed from the published list. We have not independently confirmed that each program is currently operating or accepting referrals.

What we checked Program names, contacts, and locations are transcribed from the public map. Services offered and accepted referral sources are deliberately left blank rather than guessed at, these vary by program and by Nation.

Youth probation team locations are compiled from the BC Data Catalogue open dataset of MCFD offices (addresses and coordinates) combined with the BC Government Directory (team names and phone numbers). Only offices with an explicitly named Youth Justice or Youth Probation unit are listed.

What we checked Most MCFD offices are child and family services offices and are excluded. Some integrated youth teams may also house youth probation officers without being publicly labelled as such, so this list may be incomplete. Contact the provincial line if your community is not shown.

The federal victim–offender mediation program available to people harmed by a federally sentenced crime. In British Columbia it is delivered in partnership with Fraser Region Community Justice Initiatives.
